Leroy Thorpe - Empty Threats

In Thorpe's amended complaints filed in his civil suit against Martin Moulton and the criminal case related to his false police report, Thorpe threatened to subpoena MPD Chief Lanier and Deputy Chief Diane Groomes to testify in the court case if his civil case or criminal case went to trial.

Thorpe's criminal case did go to trial. He was convicted of filing a false police report after he lied to MPD officers. The civil suit was dismissed in September.

Chief's Lanier and Groomes continued to serve District residents by focusing on important criminal matters and public safety issues, without having their time wasted being dragged into DC Superior Court in either of these matters related to Thorpe.
